Won't ever happen, not with the Supreme Court as currently configured. Particularly now that Altman is waiting in the wings to unleash SearchGPT or whatever they are going to call it. The real loser could be Apple and the BILLIONS Google pays it to be the search engine of choice...
My guess is that, just like Edge in Windows, Google and the OEMs will be forced to remove Google's default status on their various products so that the user can elect to use other search engines as their default. Sort of a slap-on-the-wrist approach, but probably one of the few realistic things that the court can order...
Wow. What would that even look like to break up google because of a search engine monopoly?
