Not sure if it’s just me, but for some posts I see an option to ‘like’ the post with a thumbs up👍 and for some posts I have an option to ‘love’ the post with a heart ❤️. Is that random or something we can set? And if the latter, do people have a preference? 🥰
Minor thing, but in Safari on iOS in seeing Platform Wars offered twice when starting a new post. Edit: d'Oh! They're two different groups, hardware and software, it's just that the names are too long for mobile.
Oh! It's because you're not seeing the whole title. One is Platform wars (hardware) and one is Platform wars (software). The iPhone image is the hardware one. I could make more appropriate image thumbnails for them to help differentiate.
I just lost a post because of what seems to be a bug, or maybe it's one of my ad blockers breaking things.
The scenario: type a post title, start typing the post, when almost done attempt to add a smiley. Post text disappears. Hit publish in the hopes that the text is still there: nothing happens. Dang it! Has anyone seen this and perhaps found a way out of the blank post state back to the original text?
Edit: this is on Firefox desktop in Windows 11.
Ick, just had this happen for a comment reply using Safari on my iPad mini. I had tried 3-4 different emojis, seeing which I liked best, deleting them after, and then on the next one boom, blank reply.
Just want to say that the Groups incarnation of TPCR feels more like the Xenforo site that we left last year. It looks more structured, and imo pretty inviting. Having the breadcrumbs at the top (like Home > Groups > Platform wars) also helps with navigation.
Thanks @violajack for putting this together with nice category images etc. I don't know if you also did the color palette, but that works for me as well. Thanks for the hard work in keeping us alive!
Edit: just noticed, it seems a little faster as well. Only downside, it seems to use those dopey Microsoft emoji. 😅 Here's hoping there will be emoji packs to fix that. 😁
Interesting, I'm only using the app thing and it's identical to the forum in pretty much every meaningful way that I can tell, except that it's a bit out of order.
