iPhone Duo
Pot Committed...just saw Gurman's final rumor mongering on the iPhone Fold/Ultra - it will be named iPhone Duo (sorry Microsoft, you blew it AGAIN). But more importantly, it will support Apple Pencil. So now I have about 30 days (not showing up until October, and waiting list likely to go to Christmas) to get the kidney sold - starts at $1999 (actually better than I thought - see how "raitonalization" works), but my guess is 512gb storage is a minimum of $2400. Just checked my 3 year old iPhone 15 Pro Max and it is only using 107gb of its 512gb...hmmmmm

UPDATE - I DID IT - pre-order for iPhone Duo Night Blue with 512gb set for 11/2-11/9 delivery. $2199 was a better price than I expected (only $100 mre than Z Fol 8).
IT WAS A FREAKING ZOO! I got in at the 7:00am Oklahoma land rush start, order approved at 7:01 and received email confirmation at 7:02, and still didn't get release day delivery (10/23). Even more unbelievable, by 7:29 deliveries were delayed until 01/25/27! Not even the long lines to get the iPhone 3g and the pre-order fiasco of the iPhone X can compare to the feeding frenzy this time. Perfect storm of pent up desires for. folding iPhone (and "I have the ultimate Apple status symbol") and limited supply. However the estimated 2026 production is somwhere between 6-10m units.
Now, how to justify (rationalize) this purchase - ha ha ha? I'm not even going to try. This is my birthday/Christmas present for 2026 (and probably 2027), but I really think it will replace my iPhone and iPad in one device, especially if the USB-C Pencil eally works on the outside and inside screens. More updates to come as I get started in November.
